2025 in futuro – heimat, verifiziert (remember)

The series ‚Home, Verified‘ builds upon the photographic work on the theme of „Home X“ from 2015. This project explored the history of the US headquarters in Heidelberg, which left the city in 2013 after 60 years. The documentation of urban development has continued, and the future of „Home X“ has been captured photographically. For the ‚IN FUTURO – Art Exhibition at the Rosengarten‘, an interim report on this long-term project is being compiled.
The foundation of my series is the work from 2015. Building upon this, photographs from 2018 and 2024 follow. Since the project’s inception in 2015, the same camera has been used to maintain a consistent visual language. The respective viewpoints and perspectives were reconstructed as accurately as possible in subsequent years. The subjects depict diverse developmental processes—some places have transformed, while others remain almost unchanged.
The photographically documented process reveals how political decisions with urban planning implications alter urban space.
