2024 Galerie PERG – CAR_ERA

The private opening of the “CAR_ERA” exhibition – the publication of Hans Mezger’s personal photo archive – took place on November 18, 2024. In honor of his unique career as an engine pope and his passion for photography, the evening, which deliberately coincided with Mezger’s birthday, was not only ceremoniously opened, but also enriched by an auction of very special photographs. Guests included family members, friends and former colleagues of Hans Mezger. The evening was introduced by gallery owner Ann-Kathrin Eisenbarth, who gave an introduction to the exhibition. Oliver Mezger, son of Hans Mezger, provided background information on the photographs and shared personal anecdotes from his childhood. Pictures were auctioned off in the gallery for the first time. The selected photographs showed scenes with urban flair, special moments from motor racing and unique car models from the Porsche brand. In total, the six motifs were an edition of two, with only one being released for sale. One of these will remain in the possession of the Mezger family.
