the photographic work of fak9 is characterized by a precise yet poetic view of urban spaces, landscapes, and architecture. Many of the works exist at the intersection of documentation and artistic interpretation.

ARCHITEKTUR

in 2014, the "office for architecture and photography" was founded. this allows architectural understanding and experience to inform the photographic work. fak9 is deeply involved in the field of photography — as well as to developing and implementing architectural concepts.

KURATION

in the area of curatorial work, fak9 is involved in organizing exhibitions. different concepts for artistic disciplines such as graphics, painting, object & installation and video art are developed. many collaborations have emerged through a network that has been cultivated and maintained over many years.

9 = 1 + 3 + 5

9 is the digital root of 135. this film format in photography refers to a film type originally developed for 35mm cameras, with a standard size of 24 x 36 mm. it is wound onto a 35 mm wide plastic sheet, hence it's also called 35mm film. The number refers to the film format— the designation is typical for this format.

The photographs are thematically linked by their subject matter, which is drawn from nature. Some subjects appear without scale. In some cases, almost abstract forms are recognizable, while in others, specific landscape features are depicted.
